VISS Celebrates UAE National Day

This year at VISS teachers, parents and students formed a committee to plan a special UAE National Day event in honor of the Emirates’ 40th Anniversary.  The event was a wonderful opportunity for the school community to come together in honor of the theme Spirit of the Union.

 

The day started with an official opening ceremony with special guest speaker; Ms. Fawziah Hassan Bin Gharib; Assisstant undersecretary of the Ministry if Education for educational operations and Dr Amr Abdel-Hamid; Special Advisor to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.

The school community enjoyed watching the birds of prey show, performances by traditional Emirati dancers and VISS students, they tasted a delicious assortment of food, enjoyed the rides and a soccer match between the teachers and students. The highlight of the day was definitely the outstanding Art display in the Performing Arts Centre by VISS students. The students showcased an array of Art work reflecting the country’s history and its amazing growth in only 40 years.

Our UAE celebrations at VISS on Thursday 24th of November were definitely a memorable event for the whole school community.
