The Victorian Government of Australia has undertaken extensive enhancements of its school education system over the past few years. These reforms came to the attention of His Highness, Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. His Highness was considering the need to improve Sharjah’s government schools.
His Highness decided to form a partnership with the Victorian state of Australia to establish a school owned by the Government of Sharjah, but based entirely on the Victorian education model. This will become a lighthouse school for improvements in Sharjah schools.
The Emirate’s decision to choose the Australian state of Victoria’s education model above all others is a strong endorsement of Victoria as a world-leader in education. Other governments have also recognised the Victorian curriculum in this way.
The Victoria International School of Sharjah is founded on a strong, long term relationship between the governments of Sharjah and the state of Victoria in Australia. Both governments prioritise the learning and growth of all.

The Victoria International School of Sharjah is an outcome of the excellent relationship betweem the Government of Victoria and the Government of Sharjah. His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah has great admiration for Victoria's curriculum, the methods Victorian teachers use to encourage children to learn and the way Victoria designs schools for the 21st century - using flexible learning spaces and the latest technology. He has been pleased to be able to make this available to young people living in the UAE.
